Until now, the names of the 4 teams that would play in the playoffs were known, but the last round had to find out which team would take what place and, consequently, who would meet whom in the semifinals.
Mega and Orbi, who are in the first and fourth places, competed today in the first meeting held at the Olympic Palace. Orbi coached by Irakli Tomaradze had a chance to take the third place. For this they had to defeat Mega and wait for the lose of Zestaponi against Kavkasia in the next match.
Orbi wasn’t able to win. It is true that after Giorgi Simonishvili’s exact three-pointer, Orbi advanced 58:55 in the last period, but in the remaining time Mega played great, won the final ten minutes 37:25 and finally won 87:77 (Statistics). This was a match of superiority of Georgian players, because the locals were the most successful.
მGiorgi Metskhovrishvili held the best match of the season in Mega, gaining 19 points. Luka Giorgadze also had the best match of the season: 19 points, 11 rebounds. Nika Ramishvili scored 14 points.
