6th round matches of the Suprleague finished with a tense battle between Tskhum-Apkazeti and Mgzavrebi, which ended with the victory of Zviad Antadze’s team – 77:75.
4 minutes before the final siren, Buba Berishvili’s team was winning by 6 points and lacked just a little to the final success. But Tskhum Apkhazeti didn’t give them this chance. Deonta Franklin and Vakhtang Gaprindashvili reduced the difference to the minimum point. Gaprindashvili even managed to score the advancing ball minute and a half before the end – 72:71. After this, Mgzavrebi took a foul on Gaprindashvili, who shot both free-throws successfully and in fact decided the fate of the match – 75:72.
In the remainin minute, Tskhumi retained its leadership and eventually, won by 2-points difference 77:75. Deonta Franklin led the winners with 15 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists. Kwan Waller scored 17 points and 5 assists. Giorgi Kvetenadze had 12 points. Taj Spencer was the most effective with 21 points, 11 rebounds and 5 assists in Mgzavrebi. Soso Gognadze contributed 14 points and 15 rebounds.
Final match of the 6th round, where Cactus and Olmpi meets, will be held on November 17, at Tbilisi Olympic Palace.
