Second round matches of October 19 are over. The audience wasn’t able to see an interesting battle in the third match today. TSU, which won the Dudu Dadiani Memorial few days ago and started the Superleague with the defeat of Batumi, gained a convincing victory today as well. TSU, trained by Leqso Lapanashvili, met Mgzavrebi and after the first equal half, obviously won the second match convincingly. TSU won the third period 33:20 and decided the fate of the match. Their advantage reached 30 points and Mgzavrebi lost its motivation.
Eventually, TSU won 103:76. They achieved this result at the expense of the teamgame. The winners didn’t have a distinct leader. Giorgi Korsantia became the top-scorer with 16 points, however, David Mcfarland was very good as well (13 points, 10 rebounds, 3 assists) and Djordje Milosavlevic had 15 points and 6 rebounds. Giorgi Turdziladze scored 13 points. Taj Spencer was the most effective with 19 points and 13 rebounds in Mgzavrebbi.
TSU is a leader of the Superleague along with Dinamo, they both have 2/2 victories. Mgzavrebi hasn’t won any matches for now. Remaining 2 matches of the second round will be held tomorrow, on October 20, at Tbilisi Olympic Palace: Vera – Rustavi, Olimpi – Kutaisi.
