Mega and Kavkasia will meet in the A League finals. The final series will be up to 3 victories and the winner will receive a ticket to the Super League 2021-2022 season. Kavkasia, coached by Beqa Tsivtsivadze and Koka Tomaradze joined Mega today in the finals. The former defeated Zestaponi convincingly – 81:66 (Statistics) in the third, decisive semifinal match.
The fight didn’t take place in the semifinal match and the reason for that was the sorted game of Kavkasia. Zestaponi fought and did not lack boldness, but you can not win basketball games only with strength and courage. Kavkasia’s players showed more sorted, effective team game, while Zestaponi couldn’t manage to act in combination neither in defense or offense.
Zestapni was leading for a short time only in the debut minutes. Since Elliot Cole took a three-point lead in the 8th minute of the match, Kavkasia has lost neither its leadership nor its attitude. They won the first period 23:13, and increased the lead to 22 points for the big break. The fate of the match was in fact revealed here. Due to the course of the game, Zestaponi did not look like a team that was able to eliminate a 22-point deficit in just one period. The maximum that the team coached by Sergo Atuashvili managed to reduce was 13 points.
Elliot Cole led the winners with 24 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists. Shannon Fawler scored 14 points and 13 rebounds. Markese Mayfield collected 15 points.
The final series between Mega and Kavkasia will start on April 22. All matches of the series will be held at the Olympic Palace. The meetings will be held on April 22, 23 and 25 and all of them will start at 14:30. As you are aware, the final series lasts until 3 wins and if necessary, the 4th and 5th matches of the series will be held on April 26 and 28.
