4th round matches of A-League were held at Tbilisi Olympic Palace today. Audience had opportunity to see both leaders and outsiders. CIU and Orbi-Arena played in the first match.
The team trained by Bojan Salatic gained another victory. CIU has just two foreign players, but they added several Georgian Superleague players and became favourites of A-League. Orbi-Arena tried their best to resist, but they were never given real chance to win. CIU trained by Salatic won all periods and eventually won the match – 70:50.
Beqa Tsivtsivadze led the winners with 14 points. Wendell Lewis scored 13 points and 11 rebounds. Andre Walker had 11 points and 8 rebounds. Armani Flannigan was the most effective with 21 points and 13 rebounds in Orbi-Arena.
Two outsiders, teams without victory in the current championship – Tbilisi and Apkhazeti played in the second match. The latter was winning throughout the game, although Tbilisi was remaining chance until the end. Apkhazeti lacked a legionary, but the second American – Keneth Rhymes played very effectively. His three-pointers at the decisive moment brought his team victory – 82:72.
Keneth Rhymes became a top scorer with 24 points. Oto Buliava scored 18 points and 10 rebounds. Ucha Gamreklidze had 8 points and 14 rebounds. Levan Revazashvili ws the most effective with 25 points and 10 rebounds in Tbilisi. Giorgi Dvali scored 18 points.
Vera and Mega-Basket played in the last match of the 4th round. This match turned out quite tense and interesting, the fate of which was decided at the last seconds, by one offensive attack.
On the one hand, there was Bryson scot gaining 36 points for Vera and on the other hand, Corey Sanders, whose 27 points were of vital importance for Mega-Basket. Although, Georgians were also active on both sides. Batumian guard of Mega-Basket – Nika Ramishvili scored 5/6 three-pointers and 17 points in total. Givi Baqradze and 18-year-old Giorgi Kvatchantiradze were distinctive in Vera. Former scored 12 points and latter had 14.
Eventually, Mega-Basket managed to win – 92:88 and maintained its place among leaders with 4 out of 4 victories. Vera is on the third place with 2 victories and 2 defeats.
