The super league draw was renewed after the FIBA window. 11th round started today in Kutaisi, where the leaders – Kutaisi and Dinamo played against each other. Both teams had equal scores before today’s fight. The winner would gain the leadership of the Superleague.
Dinamo arrived in Kutaisi with 8 victories in a row and they were planning to continue the successful series. However, the team trained by Kote Tughushi played one of the best games in this season and defeated Dinamo by 15-points difference – 81:66.
However, the match started equally with transitional advantage in the first period. Dinamo even won the first quarter 24:23, but Kutaisians took a full control over match from the second one. They recovered the leadership and gained an important advantage before the big break with winning the period 27:12 and overall 50:36.
The match continued equally after that, which means that the hosts remained the leadership. There was no tension in the remaining period and eventually, Kutaisi won 81:66.
Jonathan Lee led the winners with 22 points, but Terrence Thompson was the most effective with 25 rebounds, which is the record of this season. Besides, Thompson also scored 14 points. De Juan Wright collected 16 points. Davit Lomidze had 11 points. Demagoj Bubalo was the most effective with 29 points and 12 rebounds in Dinamo. Merab Boqolishvili scored 9 points.
Next 3 matches of the 11th round of the Superleague will be held on March 2, at Tbilisi Olympic Palace and the remaining match of this round will be held in Rustavi between the locals and Delta.
