Tbilisi Olympic Palace hosted another match of the first round of the Superleague. TSU and Batumi met each other, they should have played on October 13, but since they met on October 9 in the final of Dudu Dadiani, the match was held three days late by their mutual agreement with the organizers. The meeting of the Memorial finalists turned out quite tense. Especially, last minutes, when both teams had equal chances to win. However, TSU brought it to the end.
If TSU won the Dadiani Memorial convincingly, by 18 points, today they just had 2 points advantage – 92:90. However, TSU’s leadership achieved 12 points in the third period – 71:59 but the guests weren’t going to give up. At the expense of legionnaires – Collin Malcolm, Nikola Vujovic and Junious Prowell, Batumi managed to reduce the difference and even advanced 2 minutes before the final siren – 86:85. At a crucial moment, everything was decided due to small details and eventually, TSU gained a victory.
Giorgi Turdziladze led the winners with 35 points. He repeated the result of first-round top-scorer Revaz Rogava. Davit Mcfarland, who had a debut in TSU, scored 14 points. Sandro Sanadze contributed 12 points, Giorgi Korsantia had a double-double 11 points and 13 rebounds. Collin Malcolm was the most effective with 24 points in Batumi.
