Mgzavrebi defeated Batumi in of the match of the final tour of regular championship and it turned out that these teams will meet in the quarterfinal series. As for another match, it was already known that Dinamo and TSU-Hyundai would play against each other in the first round of playoffs.
The only intrigue of this match was whether TSU-Hyundai would have managed to defeat Dinamo by 6 points. the team trained by Nikoloz Cherkezishvili won 98:89 and went to the 4th place, while Dinamo took the 5th. Both team are Tbilisians which means the court advantage is not important here. Accordingly, in terms of the tournament, distribution of places among them did not matter.
Participants also knew that so the meeting went on without tension. Thanks to Sando Sanadze’s effective play, TSU-Hyundai who lacked two legionnaires – James Milliken and Ratko Petric, convincingly defeated Dinamo. They will meet in quarterfinals now and the winner of the series will play in semifinals.
