The third round of the Superleague is over. Cactus and Rustavi met each other in the last match. Rustavi took a revenge on Cactus of losing Dudu Dadiani Memorial. These teams met on Dudu Dadiani tournament on October 7 and Cactus didn’t let Rustavi in the semifinals. The team trained by Georgios Ketselidis, broke its rival in the final period of today’s match and eventually defeated by 13 points – 86:73.
The match started with the advantage of Rustavi. They didn’t give up this leadership throughout the game. Rustavi was winning by 9 points after the first quarter. However, Cactus didn’t give up and reduced the difference to 6 points before the final period.
The situation became tense in the decisive period, when Rustavi’s leadership was reduced to 4 points (69:65). A Greek coach took a minute-break, after which his players showed an excellent game. Thanks to the effectiveness of Denzel Livingston, Saba Lobjanidze, Nikola Tadic and Oto Pkhakadze, Rustavi advanced with more than 10 points. Cactus wasn’t able to tie the game in the remaining time.
Oto Pkhakadze led the winners with 13 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists. Nikola Tadic scored 16 points and 7 rebounds. Saba Lobjanidze had 14 points and Denzel Livingston contributed 12 points. Mikheil Chochua was the most effective with 21 points in Cactus. Justin Everett scored 17 points.
The next match of the Superleague will be held on October 30, where Titebi and Tskhum-Apkhazeti meets.
