Super League leader – Kutaisi visited Tbilisi Olympic Palace and defeated Olimpi 87:82. Olimpi is one of the warrior teams. They usually fight till the end, however, they didn’t succeed against Kutaisi, which was leading almost the whole game. Olimpi was trying to catch up, but they lacked stability.
After the first half, which was more or less equal, Kutaisians won the 3rd period 18:11 thanks to the effectiveness of Akaki Dvalishvili, Levan Patsatsia and Giorgi Barbaqadze. The guests had 10-points advantage before the decisive quarter, while Olimpians were doing their best to reduce this difference. Mark Ogden was very productive, he was also helped by Nika Darbaidze. However, the team itself wasn’t organized enough. Darbaidze’s 3-pointer reduced the difference to 3 points 2 minutes before the final siren, but eventually, Kutaisians managed to gain the victory.
Akaki Dvalishvili led the winners with 20 points and 9 rebounds. Giorgi Barbaqadze scored 16 points. Levan Patsatsia had 14 points and 8 rebounds. Mark Ogden was the most effective with 31 points and 16 rebounds in Olimpi. Charles Bennett scored 19 points and 8 assists. Nika Darbaidze collected 13 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists.
There was another match today between Batumi and Dinamo. The latter won 79:66, which was their 5th victory in the current SuperLeague.
