The second round of the Superleague finished with a non-equal match. Silver medal-owners of the previous season – Kutaisi defeated Olimpi in Tbilisi. The fate of the match has been decided in the second period already. Kutaisians were winning by 41 points difference – 56:15 at the end of it.
Kutaisi, trained by Kote Tughushi, held the best match of tge current season. After losing to Vera in the first round, the club was able to rehabilitate and left no chance for Olympi in today’s match. At the last minute of the first period, Kakha Jintcharadze and Milos Pajovic were fouled out of the game because of fighting. After the first half, Olimpi’s captain was also out with the second technical foul. Eventually, Kutaisi won 90:60.
Beqa Beqauri led the winners with 18 points, 8 rebounds and 3 assists. Giorgi Barbaqadze scored 15 points. Avtandil Lominashvili and James Milliken collected 12-12 points each. Kory Holden was the most effective with 14 points in Olimpi. Davion Turner had 12 points.
Third round matches of the Superleague will be held on October 25 in Kutaisi and Batumi and on October 26 in Tbilisi.
