The final, 11th round of the Superleague has started in Batumi. Gia Kazanjiani’s team hosted Olimpi, trained by Dimitri Jakobov and gained a very important victory – 88:81. The result of this match was of great importance for both teams. Batumi equalized with Olimpi in the standings thanks to this win, which was mostly at the expense of their new Greek legionnaire, who scored 22 points and 11 effective assists.
The meeting was quite tense and interesting. Olimpi was winning initially, finishing the first period – 23:17. Batumi, however, tied the game from the second quarter winning it 29:21. They went to the big break with 3-points advantage.
Second half was more or less equal as well. Olimpi had a chance to save the game until the end. But eventually, Batumi won by 7 points and ended the first circle on the second place. Batumias have 6 victories and 4 loses just as Olimpi.
Diplaros led the winners with 22 points and 11 rebounds. Rezo Chachanidze scored 5 three-pointers and 17 points in total. Nikola Vujovic had 15 points and 10 rebounds. Levan Maskhulia collected 13 points. Kakha Jintcharadze was the most effective with 18 points, 8 rebounds. Revaz Rogava contributed 16 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists. Akiean Frederick scored 13 points and 8 rebounds.
