17th tour of the Superleague started today in Batumi. Kutaisi 2010, who is already on the first place and therefore is playing without motivation, visited Adjara. Kote Tughushi’s team will end the regular season on the first place, despite any result. It may was the reason for not being mobilized enough. They lost the third period by 17 points and eventually, lost the match.
Batumi won – 97-89. Gia Kazanjiani’s team was threatened to go in A League 4 tours before, however, they managed to defeat 4 team in a row: Delta, TSU-Hyundai, Dinamo and Kutaisi, which means, they will stay in the Superleague for the next season. Batumians won 5 matches out of the previous 6. This is really amazing achievement in this Superleague full of equal teams.
Kasey Shepherd led the winners with 30 points. Spencer Collins scored 22 points. Levan Eliadze collected 19 points. De Juan Wright was the most effective with 22 points in Kutaisi. Terrens Thompson scored 17 points and 16 rebounds.
