Batumi hosted Delta and defeated easily – 75:60. The result of the game was important for the both teams. The hosts needed the victory to approach the leaders. In case of victory, Marneuli would increase the difference with Sokhumi to 3 points.
Batumi, trained by Vladimir Bosniak, won the first period 24:11. Then they increased the difference to 22 points and after the first half the account was 46:24. If the guests had any ambitions to win this game, they would have changed something in the third period, but the period ended with 18-18 and the fate of this game was already decided.
In the decisive quarter, the hosts didn’t pay enough attention and Delta managed to reduce the difference from 22 points to – 15. Batumi gained the 8th victory and moved to the 3rd place in the standings.
Leonid Stefanyshyn led the winners with 27 points and 13 rebounds. Ivane Maisuradze and Vakhtang Qadaria scored 10-10 points each. Nicholas Neal was the most effective in Delta with 16 points. Giorgi Vakhania accumulated 10 points and 7 rebounds. Saba Lobjanidze had 9 points and 7 rebounds.
