Tbilisi Olympic Palace is hosting another tour of the Super League today. The first match ended several minutes ago. Batumi played with Mgzavrebi and gained a very necessary victory – 74:64.
The Batumians started the Super League well and were among the leaders in the first round, but then they failed and fell below the standings. The loss of today’s match would be a big blow for the Batumians ambitions, however, the very tense and equal match ended in favor of them.
Mgzavrebi won the first period 21:20. The leader has changed several times, but none of the teams could win more than 3-4 points. Batumi was leading for the big break, the third quarter ended – 17:17. It was obvious, that the winner should be revealed in the last minutes, but the meeting ended so that the situation was not tense. The precise shoots of Illya Shemosyuk, Spencer Collins and Leonid Stefanyshyn gave Batumians 10 points advantage. The hosts weren’t able to tie the game in the last 2 minutes.
Spencer Collins led the winners with 24 points and 13 rebounds. Eric Chilldress accumulated 14 points and 7 assists, Leonid Stefanyshyn scored 12 points. Adrian Bowie was the most effective with 25 points in Mgzavrebi.
